Any sponsors?
I have no idea with me working on DVD movies, the team site, events all I own and then helping with local Detroit stuff. I have tried to organize my sponsors this year. I think ZeroLift and Copper Tire will be helping me. I plug ZeroLift because in the past they sponsored me and are great guys! So I will see what’s happening soon. I find Modern Speed Labs interesting also. SOME ONE SPONSOR ME!
When and how did you get into drifting and/or other motor sports?
The internet! I stopped hanging around my skateboard crew because of drama and the fact I was starting to like cars. I found people on the internet into Rally around 1997 by 2000 I was really into things and my team was roll'n. Now I love it and I started skating again.
What was the first car you used for drifting?
Well I used my mom’s corolla in 96 and messed it up. Then later I was stuck with Honda since I worked at Honda. I started to FF Drift, I did not see any walls or hate between FF and FR. When I started into SCCA and Drifting we had Pro Rally car on our team. So I used what I had. I kept going with FF. It’s harder and is more abuse to the car. I switched to an Rx7 later, the motor was in bad shape and it broke then I had no car forever it seemed like. So I started as FF.
How did it work out for you?
It worked out find our team members at the time some Rally drivers, Some where kids who drove like nuts on dirt roads then a few show kids. We used to hit up all the dirt roads in our area. I took it to any road after that. Like I said to us it was about having fun for years. That’s all that matters to me is having fun and pumping up my friends and fellow drivers.
What was your most practiced technique?
Left foot and faint, braking drift a lot. We where all about tossing the cars body weight around. I really am learning FR still, it’s a little different but the idea of weight transfer is the same. I still have much to learn! Please teach me.
What is it now?
It’s started all over for me now. I am into FR now and its a little of a change, Not used to the throttle actions as they seemed different to me then FF.
Where are you looking to improve?
I love auto X and my drift events are more like Gymkhana and then high speed open track... I want to learn more high speed, but I love Gymkhana and want to have more tight control.
What types of events have you participated in?
SCCA, time trials, drag racing, and local drift events (When I can).
What type of events have you competed in?
I started in SCCA events; I really enjoy autocross the most. I also enjoy Drift events. I do many in the Mid West area so with the stress of putting them on; I get little or no seat time with drifting. I hope to get more seat time soon.
What do you find challenging?
Learning styles and working on being clean and have my own awesome style. Like a ninja.
Who are your influences?
Option videos for sure. UK Rally videos. Other drivers I hang out with. Slide Squad and old internet sites like that.
What modifications would you like to have in the future?
MORE POWER!! :-D But for now I hear you gain much more skill drifting a low powered car. So I have to wait.
What are your future plans in drifting?
I really enjoy doing it for my self, when I started there was no events, and it was not known. I will have more events this year, and support every one. I will try to drive at some other events when I can. I drift for fun yo!
What are your thoughts on the future of drifting?
It’s hard to say. With the movie coming out you know (That movie)... I say street drifting is going to take a hard hit. And I am no way am happy about it. I think that corp.’s and big 3 will over run Formula D. American Drifting already has its own style at those events more smoke more aggressive then pretty some times; So American Drifting will have its own image. I will be anti- on the band wagon. But in some ways my Drift Battle is very band wagon like, but it has to be so more people come. But support it because the pay off from it pays for my open drift events SPEEDRiFT days. The SPEEDRiFT event is every thing I love about Japan and drift scene to its roots.
Anything else you would like us to know about you?
Some times when I flip out I turn into a ninja. You don't even know!
