When and how did you get into drifting and/or other motor sports?
I first got into road racing after attending Danny McKeever’s Fast Lane Racing School (www.raceschool.com) at willow springs raceway on the streets of willow track, using race-prepped celicas. After that I picked up an AE86 because it was a cheap rwd platform that I could use for road racing. But it ended up that I had more fun going sideways on rainy days so I began to get more into drifting than anything else. As I learned more about it I found out about Gymkhana, which is my favorite form of motorsport smile.gif

What was the first car you used for drifting?
AE86, of course! Cheap, RWD, and loves to slide!

How did it work out for you?
Worked out well, I’m still playing with ae86’s, but starting to look into E30 BMW’s. Even if I pick one up, I’m sure I’ll have an ae86 in my garage smile.gif

What was your most practiced technique?
Clutch Kicks

What is it now?
Getting up enough speed to turn in and go sideways, I like to avoid kicking the clutch if I can, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Where are you looking to improve?
Angle and line, like any other drifter. I like to try to be as smooth as I can.

What types of events have you participated it?
Track/Autocross at California Speedway, Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, Irwindale, and of course a parking lot here and there

What type of events have you competed in?
Drifting at California Speedway, Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, and Irwindale

What do you find challenging?
Dealing with ignorant people telling me to do or not to do something regarding my car and drifting.

Who are your influences?
Pfeiffer, Taka, Miwa, and of course the King

What modifications would you like to have in the future?
More power via 20v would be nice, if not I’ll do a 16V buildup with individual throttle bodies.

What are your future plans in drifting?
Try to keep having as much fun as possible, maybe participate in some showoff stuff outside of California.

Your thoughts on the future of drifting?
I’m scared more than anything. I don’t want people to think the wrong things about drifting due to a few people that love to stir up trouble and give drifters a bad name. either way it’s not going to make drifting any less fun, it’s still a great motorsport and I’ll always love to compete in it!

Anything else you would like us to know about you?
Check me out in the January issue of Maxim with some gymkhana action!
