When and how did you get into drifting and/or other motor sports?
I have always been into cars/racing since I could remember, started drag racing after I got a car, first saw drifting in '97 thought it looked fun. had the car and the chance to do it in 2001.
What was the first car you used for drifting?
1985 Corolla Hatchback w/supercharged GZE motor
How did it work out for you?
Couldn't keep the car running well enough to drift, when I did, I spun out a lot, wasn't going fast enough
What was your most practiced technique?
Power over
What is it now?
Clutch kick, feint, braking, not really sure, just have to be driving the car
Where are you looking to improve?
Increase speed, start the slide sooner, more power
What types of events have you participated it?
Mostly DG trials events in NJ, been to one Lookout Drift event, as far as drifting anyways, also been to a few AutoX's in Denver in 97-98, drag racing at a few different tracks
What type of events have you competed in?
Same as mentioned above, nothing serious, car isn't competitive enough
What do you find challenging?
Drifting a corolla, much more challenging to keep up than in other conventional drift cars
Who are your influences?
My friends at DGtrials, and friends in the Drift Alliance (Tony A., Chris F., JR Gitten)
What modifications would you like to have in the future?
To acquire another AE86 corolla coupe since moving back to CO, and selling my last coupe, and start the whole thing over again with a fresh chassis
What are your future plans in drifting?
To be able to be competitive in the field if I so choose to. I am in to drifting for the fun and challenge of it, not for competition. Just another way to enjoy a car.
Your thoughts on the future of drifting?
It will continue to grow at a tremendous rate for a while, then die off, just like all other import "tuner" sports. After that, only the true, dedicated enthusiasts will remain, and enjoy it.
the skill level of the good drivers will only get better, and will rival that of the best drifters in the profession.
Anything else you would like us to know about you?
