When and how did you get into drifting and/or other motor sports?
My friend took me to Touge in Japan when I was 19 years old to experience the world of drifting. From that day forth my life was changed. Each and every weekend I was on the mountain passes practicing my drifting techniques.
What was the first car you used for drifting?
Toyota MarkII (GX81) Automatic (NA)
How did it work out for you?
This car was by far the most difficult to drift. I bought this car even before I knew about drifting. This was my daily driver I used to commute to school. It was so old that it had a foot ebrake system with the hand release. I got smart with it and jammed a piece of metal to keep the release handle unengaged. So then I could kick the side brake with out having to pull the handle for the ebrake technique.
What was your most practiced technique?
My best friend was my sidebrake at the time. I also practiced keeping close to the person in front of me. But mainly I practice my line and keeping as close to the guard rails as possible. The reason why I did that was because there were many spectators standing close by so I wanted to show them my skill.
What is it now?
The thing I practice now is adjusting myself to the lead driver while I’m doing tandem.
Where are you looking to improve?
Two things: keeping myself consistent with each and every run, and also being able to adjust my line while I’m in a tandem battle.
What types of events have you participated in?
US Drift, DGtrials Drift Riot, ITB, Dunlop Neo Fest, & Beaverun Drift Day
What type of events have you competed in?
