When and how did you get into drifting and/or other motor sports?
Ever since I was a kid I’ve been into racing. Driving go carts and doing other things. I was introduced to drifting when I was 16 years old by one of my friends. Finally I got my license and a year after I purchased my first drift car. I ran Solo2 a few times but it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as drifting. So I started doing as many drift events as I could. I will continue to drift and soon I will be doing the Mid Ohio Road racing school as well to further improve my driving!
What was the first car you used for drifting?
The very first car I used for drifting was my 1990 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo. It worked okay for the time but later switched over to my S14.
How did it work out for you?
It was actually kind of crazy at first, cotton mouth, super happy, and extremely sweaty hands. After finally getting the first actual real drift I was hooked.
What was your most practiced technique?
When I first started it was just clutch kick, sidebrake. I was also mainly trying to keep a drift going from one turn to another linking them all.
What is it now?
Practicing my clipping points, keeping it smooth with good speed, and most of all tandem.
Where are you looking to improve?
Being consistent with each and every run I do with lots of angle and speed. Also learning the secrets to tandem and becoming good at it.
What types of events have you participated in?
USDRIFT, DG, Dunlop Neo Fest, ITB drift, and other local events.
What type of events have you competed in?
USDRIFT, DG, Dunlop Neo Fest, ITB drift, and other local events
What do you find challenging?
Being present at every single event.
Who are your influences?
All of my friends and my teammates “United-Drift” (Tadashi Ikegami, Fedor Andreev, John Wagner, Rob Riter). When we are practicing or competing we are always pushing one another to our limits and beyond, just to make each other better. All the Japanese D1 drivers I’m always watching and learning.
What modifications would you like to have in the future?
Well this winter I’ll be doing a v-mount and top mount turbo setup. Also doing an Origin Aero kit with front and rear over fenders, with my new pair of shoes I got for my car.
What are your future plans in drifting?
I have very big plains for drifting. Some of them are to get my D1 license and also compete in Formula D. Also getting my name out there to all of the manufactures looking for good drivers to represent for there company. And continue to drift as much as I can.
What are your thoughts on the future of drifting?
Since drifting is getting more advanced the younger drives are getting better so everyone has to push themselves harder and become better to stay on top. Seeing drifting on ESPN also says a lot that it’s growing and not stopping.
Anything else you would like us to know about you?
I’m just a guy that is out here doing my best at whatever I do. Giving it a 110% at all times is what I’m about. I do have a girl friend that supports me to the fullest. This is who I am guys!
